Healing the Country

There’s a lot happening in America that I don’t like. And there are lots of Americans acting in a way that I don’t like. But I understand that talking shit about those people won’t change anything. Confronting them won’t change anything. I realized the best decision I could make is to live by example. I chose healing.

I chose to educate myself. I journaled, started therapy, and leaned into my spiritual center. I served on support teams for diversity education events. I do my best not to criticize Americans who I don’t agree with. I try not to complain on social media or in Zoom meetings about others’ actions during a pandemic.

Instead, I am leading a social media movement called the #BestDayEverMovement, encouraging everyone to start each day with the intention of expecting it to be the best day ever. I work on rewriting my TV show comedy script that has that same theme. I engage with people who I agree and disagree with to expand my own awareness of social issues in my country.

On January 17th, my mother and I are leading a nine-week book study on The Mis-Education of the Negro by Carter G. Woodson. This class is our way of being the change we wish to see in the world. I’m so grateful that my mother raised me to become the person I am, and I’m so excited for you all to meet her. “Seating” is limited, so click here to register

This Sunday, my cousins and I will be meeting on Zoom at 5pm for Spirit Uncensored’s Sunday Night Live: Living Our Best Quarantined Lives. In this Civil Rights Revolution we’re living in, I have been bringing my family together to inspire every American to choose to heal, educate ourselves, and engage in discussions about race, spirituality and politics.

I’d like to invite you to join this #BestDayEverMovement in your way. Register for the class with my mom. Make a donation to Spirit Uncensored. Share your journey on social media about how you are committed to living each day as the best day ever. Sign the pledge to commit to the journey. Let’s choose to live by example, working together to heal our country.
